Fiestas Del Carmen - Empuriabrava
13th, 14th, 15th and 16th July 2007
The Virgin of Carmen is the patron saint of sailors and fishermen. The Fiesta del Carmen is on July 16th and this important event for Empuriabrava is celebrated throughout the weekend.
Friday 13th
11:30 - Opening of the photography exhibition "40 Years Empuriabrava" - Hotel Xons Playa
12:00 - Hoisting of the Blue Flag - the Port and Empuriabrava Beach
22:30 - Dance with the Monte Carlo Orchestra - on the Promenade
Saturday 14th
18:00 - Children's entertainment and foam party by Jordi Patxeco - on the Promenade
21:00 - Dance "Bastille Day " - Delta Muga Square
22:30 - Dance with the group Hotel Cochambre - on the Promenade
Sunday 15th
In the afternoon and evening: Food Fair and small artisans - on the Promenade
19:00 - Street Procession featuring lots of local groups followed by a performance of the Banda Del Surdo and the Figueres Castellers group
22:30 - Dance with the Boulevard Orchestra - on the Promenade
Monday 16th
19:30 - Procession of the Virgin Carmen - along the canals. Boat owners are invited to decorate their boats with flowers and join the procession. Departure from the crane in the port of the Club Náutic, accompanied by the Xarança the Labradores.
From 20:00 - Sardinada popular - on the Sea Front
21:30 - Performance of the Esbart Dansaire group of Castelló d'Empúries - on the Promenade
23:00 - Firework display - on the Promenade. Followed by a dance with group Gerunda
