Hi,
I'm arriving in Roses on Sunday and have been told the local shops will be closed, however shops will be open in Empuriabrava. Do you know what time they close as we're hoping to get a few 'essentials' as we're staying in a private apartment.
Is there a supermarket type shop, need to get everything from teabags to nappies!

There are loads of Supermarkets in Empuriabrava that are open on Sunday. Just head into town and you will see most of them on your way in. Normally they close at 2 or 2.30 but they may have changed their closing times after Easter. I'll check when I go shopping this afternoon and will let you know.
By the way, if you want PG Tips then you can only get them from Monserat
Closing time on Sunday is still the winter hours so if you assume the supermarkets close at 2pm then you'll be fine.
On another point; if it's Pampers you're after then they are called Dodot here in Spain.

thank you Mike for your advice! and any suggestions for amusing an 8yr old AND 16month old at the same time will be muchly appreciated!! Am just hoping for some nice beach playing weather, not too hot.

It won't be too hot. The forecast isn't great for the next 8 days. It's going to be warm over the weekend (20c) but windy. Cloudy (but warmish) Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and a bit windy and blinking cold Thursday and Friday
However, the forecast could be wrong!
My 19 month old loves playing on the swings and slides that are on the beach front (though my back doesn't).
