This week sees two public holidays; Wednesday and Friday.
Wednesday 6th December is Constitution Day and celebrates the day in 1978 when the Spanish people voted in a national referendum to approve the draft constitution which provided the way forward for the creation of a democratic system in Spain.
Friday 8th December is Immaculada (Immaculate Conception).
Most shops will be closed on these two days although some supermarkets will be operating on Sunday hours.

“are shops and resturants open over the christmas period?”
Pretty much although it depends on the individual business. The shops might be closed on Christmas day and Boxing day. A few restaurants will be open on Christmas day but check first.
Anyone else know?
