Empuriabrava on Relocation, Relocation

February 15th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Channel4’s Relocation, Relocation property programme featured Empuriabrava on last night’s episode.

The Empuriabrava part of the programme was recorded last year. I know because I live next door to one of the properties featured and watched them filming. The amazing part was that they spent most of the day at one property that was only featured for a minute or so. I wondered if all of the crew stayed at the Salins or just Kirstie, Chris and Karen?

As I said, the programme was recorded last year so take what Kirstie said about there being “73 estate agents in Empuriabrava” with a pinch of salt; there’s probably more like 120 now!!

To Chris and Karen who bought a property in Empuriabrava: Enjoy your time here and remember - don’t confuse a pig with a parachute!

England Euro 2008 Qualifier in Barcelona

January 25th, 2007 · 4 Comments

UEFA have accepted an application from the Andorran FA to change the Andorra v England qualifier from Andorra (ground capacity 1800) to Espanyol’s Olympic Stadium in Barcelona.

This obviously means that more tickets will be available for the game and alleviate any problems such as the security hassle experience when England last played in Liechtenstein.

I’ve never lived so close to an England fixture!

Four New Pétanque Pitches

January 18th, 2007 · No Comments

The town council have announced that four pétanque pitches are being built on the beach at Empuriabrava near the mouth of the Muga.

Pétanque is a form of boules and is very popular here in Empuriabrava. You will often see players playing in Parc Trabuc where there are pitches but you will also see people playing on any piece of rough ground.

Have a look at this Wikipedia article for more information about pétanque. Does anyone else think that the picture shown could be in Empuriabrava? Except of course our beaches are more golden!
